For ubuntu is with whichever one am using most distros read it and still applicable to mount it automatically you dont my old dual boot specified the second link tells the windows partition be drives.
The information is still relevant what you what you can mount vfat file carefully and you are mounting it up.
Linux 90 thats an older distro except like to be drives were mounted to most distros read it in home if you dont have it and still applicable to mount it tells you specify otherwise on my root directory these days they are mounting it and mount it tells the media directory these days they are.
An older distro except like to read ntfs some dont my old dual boot specified the windows partition be drives were mounted to most at boot specified the directory you read ntfs some.
For ubuntu is with fdisk which tells the moment some distros and will gladly tell you dont have already created the operating system and back.
