I am running Fedora Core 5 on my laptop and I have Windows XP Media Center on my desktop which is connected to the internet via LAN. I want to know how I can connect to the internet from my laptop using my desktop’s net connection. I already have all the physical connections set up (network adapters and cable) and I’m already using my network for file sharing. Please don’t offer any suggestions on using Linux as host (I already know how much safer it is). I want help on dealing with situation as it.
Incidentally, I’m also facing trouble using ICS from my XP partition on the laptop. It used to work flawlessly before, but I think after I installed Fedora it stopped working (although file and printer sharing areOK). I ran the ICS wizard again on each comp, but it didn’t work. Any suggestions on what might cause that?

I mean everyone comes on here and complains about the subject being about one driver or the other. Also there is a lot of good qualities that are not known about each driver. If they were to do a special about these driver’s personal lives then people would have a little more to share about other fan’s drivers.
What do you think?
My point is so people can judge them by who they are not by the way fans talk about them.

I recently damaged my laptop hard drive. When I start my computer, it will run fine, but will not load Windows Vista. I bought a new hard drive (same make/model). Now the computer turns on fine, but it says no operating system is present. Is there a way to load Vista on my new computer?

It says the threat is itpfgdvg.dll “Virus found Lop”, whatever the hell that means, and if i ignore it, it pops up again. Tried googling it and nothing came up, and when i try to move it to the vault, it tells me that it might cause problems in my system. Suggestions anyone?

When old windows are taken out of houses and replaced, are they just thrown away? Would it be possible to get the old windows from a restoration or window replacement bussiness for free? Thanks for your help!

I am an advanced web-programmer (learned basic C++, very comfortable with OOP, etc) but I have no experience in developing full-fledged standalone applications, especially in Linux.
I am very interested in contributing to the community but not sure how to apply my programming/design knowledge to Linux. What are some good resources to learn/tips?
Thanks!

I am a female technician, I had gone to school about 15 years ago. I would like to sharpen my skills on troubleshooting electronics. I work with small boards and would like to get back to basic troubleshooting. Fast nothing deep in theory. I know the ohms laws and how to use a dvm. These are the tools I use each day.
